The seminar held at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace in Washington on April 10 was dedicated to discussing the new possibilities for cooperation between Russia and the U.S. Expert of the Carnegie Moscow Center Alexei Arbatov presented the main report. In his opinion, the recent G20 meeting played a positive role in mending Russian-American relations. However, Arbatov believes that in Russia the time has not yet come for a conceptual overhaul of its policy towards the U.S. One of the most complex aspects in Russian-American relations, in his opinion, is the policy of the U.S. and Russia in the post-Soviet space. Arbatov is convinced that the existing problems in the relations between Russia and the U.S. can be solved only if both sides will be ready to make compromises.
